At Embark, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive support to young adults from Carter & Love counties, aged 18 through 23, who are homeless, unhoused, or at risk of becoming so. Our goal is to offer a stable foundation through housing and financial assistance, while equipping our participants with the necessary tools for long-term independence and success.
Embark provides the following:
Housing Support: We provide safe, stable housing options to ensure that all youth have a secure place to call home.
Financial Assistance: Our program offers financial support to cover essential living expenses, with a structured plan to gradually decrease aid as participants become more self-sufficient.
Supervision: Our team maintains close & intense supervision to ensure safety, progress, and compliance with program requirements.
Embark requires the following:
Case Management: Each youth is assigned a dedicated case manager to guide them through their journey, offering personalized support and ensuring they stay on track towards their goals. Ratio of 1 case manager to every 4 youth.
Goal Setting: We work with participants to set realistic and achievable goals, fostering a sense of direction and purpose.
Educational Opportunities: We provide access to educational resources and opportunities, empowering youth to pursue higher education and improve their skills.
Vocational and Job Training: Our program will find comprehensive vocational training and job placement services to help youth secure stable, fulfilling employment.
By combining these essential services, Embark aims to create a nurturing environment where young adults can thrive. We believe in the potential of every youth and are committed to helping them build a brighter, more secure future. Join us in empowering youth to achieve independence and success!
Please note: this is not a comprehensive list of services or requirements. Please call Brandi Pierce at 580-226-1838 to ask questions or find additional information.
Embark is our new independent living program for homeless youth.
These youth have no one ready to fight for them, no one stepping into the gap, no safe place to land- and we are changing that, one kid at a time, one day at a time.
With Embark, these kids will have a home, they will have hope for the future, and they will have healing.
They will have a family.
The first four homes will be placed on the Park Street campus, on the northern two acres. The placement of these homes on our campus is deliberate and strategic, building the homes next to our youth service center allows for all Embark residents to have readily available access to safe adults 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
There are four homes to be placed on our campus, starting soon. These homes provide stable and affordable housing for a unique population- unhoused youths from Carter and Love counties, who are particularly vulnerable to sobering outcomes, such as human trafficking, addiction, prison and even death.
Our campus will house 10 tiny homes at completion.
Utilizing a housing first approach, CYS will provide an opportunity for support, connection, guidance, and community for every youth who chooses to participate in our Embark program. It is a voluntary program, with intense requirements and high expectations.
There will be hurdles and barriers to this program, but we are passionate and determined to provide a home, hope, and healing to Oklahoma's most vulnerable youth- both before and after age 18.
Community Youth Services has an emergency shelter for people under age 18 who are unhoused & homeless. Please call 580-226-1838 to speak with our dedicated staff!
We are here to help, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
